What Do All the Billionaires Know That Has Them Prepping for Doomsday?

Guest Post by Daisy Luther

It’s not every day that construction workers are required to sign NDAs. Of course, it’s also not every day they work on $270 million doomsday bunker for none other than Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, either.

But every worker on the project on the remote Hawaiian island has been asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and swear secrecy. As reported by Wired:

“That price for a private residence is unparalleled in the local construction industry—as is the level of secrecy and security. ‘The only other time you see that is when you’re doing secure military installations,’ says one local construction industry official affiliated with the site. ‘For a private project to have an NDA attached to it is very rare.’”

The massive underground bunker might as well be a military installation. The plans call for food production, water storage, blast doors, advanced security systems, and an infirmary to sustain 30 people.

ARE YOU PREPARED?

I’ve had an unsettled feeling about what is going on in this country and around the world for the last month. More unsettled than normal. I know that is what has spurred me to write multiple short articles over the last couple weeks as my outlet for dealing with my increasing feeling of dread. But I’ve also begun to take some action steps to be better prepared for whatever is coming.

I’m not a true doomstead prepper. I would say I’m more prepped than the average person, less prepped than many of the people who read TBP, and certainly not prepped enough to survive what could be headed our way. During the time frame from 2009 through 2012 I bought a significant amount of equipment, firearms, and food for what I thought was an imminent SHTF moment coming our way. As usual, my timing was off by a mile. But still, the supplies are in my storage area, awaiting the day that will come.

The Pragmatic Musings of an American Nobody Trying Not to be Evil

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor…

– Ezekiel 28: 15-17

To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Originator of God’s creation. I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth!  You say, ‘I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.

– Revelation 3:14-17

It’s been said the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was to convince the world he didn’t exist. And, subsequently, perhaps the next greatest deception ever perpetrated on earth occurred when Fractional Reserve Banking was invented to create money out of nothing. Bubbles are created from thin air; as are the dreams of those who measure wealth by the fading fumes of fiat currency.

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher once said: “The facts of life are conservative.”  By definition, “facts” are real. Therefore, Thatcher’s quote could also be translated as: The realities of life are conservative.

Typically, conservatives do, in fact, try to live according to values and principles that have sustained people through the centuries: by telling the truth, acting honestly, producing more than they spend, saving for a “rainy day”, living on a budget, and fairly giving back to their communities by paying taxes and practicing charity.

They Won’t Awaken for Fear of Losing the Dream

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

The great citizens of a country are not those who bend the knee before authority but rather those who, against authority if need be, are adamant as to the honor and freedom of that country.

– Albert Camus, Resistance, Rebellion, and Death

The task of men…is not to desert historical struggles nor to serve the cruel and inhuman elements in those struggles. It is rather to remain what they are, to help man against what is oppressing him, to favor freedom against the fatalities that close in upon it.…Man’s greatness…lies in his decision to be greater than his condition. And if his condition is unjust, he has only one way of overcoming it, which is to be just himself.

– Albert Camus, Resistance, Rebellion, and Death

Those familiar with the story of Noah’s Ark will know the ancient patriarch, as described in the Bible’s Book of Genesis, built a ship to ensure his family’s lineage through a great global flood. The mass population of Noah’s day would not survive the coming carnage and the people lived without any knowledge of what was about to happen. Perhaps they even ridiculed Noah and his family for building the ark. Regardless, the Walking Dead lived the dream until their world ended, abruptly, in a deluge that swept them to their respective deaths.

“Not Going To Happen To Me Again” – Prepping Goes Mainstream In Post-COVID Era

Via ZeroHedge

Consumer psychology radically changed during the early days of the virus pandemic as shortages at supermarkets emerged. Bulk-buying habits were never a thing with the modern consumer in a pre-COVID world, but now ‘prepping’ has gone mainstream two years since the beginning of the virus pandemic as supply chains remain snarled and food inflation is out-of-control. Many have discovered: be prepared or be hungry.

The pandemic was an eye-opener for tens of millions of consumers who learned the government and big corporations wouldn’t take care of them when things go south. Even our elected officials were nowhere to be found in the early days of the pandemic when people panic hoarded food at supermarkets and fought over toilet paper in a ‘free for all battle royale’.

WSJ interviewed consumers across the country who’ve expressed their purchasing habits have changed.

“Bulk-buying habit is expected to stick as people eat more at home, supply remains uncertain and inflation rears up. Retailers and producers are shifting operations as a result,” WSJ said.

Alexis Abell, a 41yo mother of five, buys in bulk out of fear of economic uncertainty.

WE AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’ YET

Guest Post by Ol’ Remus

Charles Smith at Of Two Minds has posted  strategies for surviving tough times. He does not claim to deal with a collapse of civilization, but rather the slower and uneven “devolution” he sees as more likely. He advises developing multiple skillsets and social networks, cutting expenses and relying on health and social wealth.

Mr. Smith is not just one of my regular reads, he’s one of those few I often reread. His particular “take” on events is worth close attention, always well thought out and grounded in fact. However, he’s not talking about survival, he’s talking about enduring tough times. To this end he suggests avoiding extreme preps as “predicated on a decisive ‘end of the world as we know it'”.

I believe he’s an optimist.

Preparing for the Storm: The Perfect Storm.

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

Out here in the still-free internet, the ether lends itself to utilizing a wide array of digital media as the means to provide source attribution as well as to establish commonality and understanding amongst ourselves.  This is, perhaps, the primary reason how internet blogs became the new town square in this millennium.  In the old days it was courthouses and town halls, and pubs.  Today, we meet in chatrooms, and on pages and threads.

It means if this blogger to were to write on how we’ve all become Sarah Conner in the Jeep riding into the storm at the end of the first Terminator film – a photo of that moment could be posted at the top of the article for emphasis.  Or, better yet, a video of that scene could be hyper-linked into the text.

Truly, it is the best of times and the worst of times.

A Modern-Day Paul Revere Not Warning of Noah’s Flood at a Wedding

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

– Luke 17:27

Over the last three months I’ve attended three weddings.  Whatever getting married in a barn signifies or portends, it’s trending, because that was the case for two out of my last three invitations.  Although one of the earlier ceremonies was held in an actual barn, the wedding and reception facilities where I attended this last Saturday appeared to have been specifically remade for human mammals because the venue was beyond elegant.

Being the very first betrothal I can recall ever attending in the month of December, it was no surprise the weather was bad given this time of year.  Fortunately, however, all of the important people were there.  Again, it wasn’t the storm that mattered that evening, but rather, more importantly, who showed-up for the feast. The accommodations were first class, and with all of the beautiful people in attendance, I commented to another guest it was like being in a movie or, at the very least, at a television awards ceremony.

The next morning one of my offspring texted me the following:

Was impressed last night by all the people who came up to you just to chat or for your advice and your handling of what could have been an awkward situation

BABY STEPS: You’ve Been Woke. Now Exit the Matrix.

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!  She has become a dwelling for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit……

Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues

– Revelation 18

There is an English salutation said to have been translated from a Chinese curse.  It states: May you live in interesting times. Well, like it or not, we do. There is so much insanity occurring every day, on a global basis, it is difficult to process.  So much so, that historians will one day look back on our time and scratch their heads in open-jawed, disbelief.

“Wait a minute,” they will say, “let us get this straight:”

Adam Schiff, the ranking member on the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence was overseeing an investigation into President Donald Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia because Trump was said to have obtained damaging information on Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton; but, during the same time period, Schiff was engaged in obtaining damaging information from Russians on Presidential Candidate Donald Trump?

12 Life Saving Security Insights For Doomsday Preppers

Guest Post by

We all want to be sitting pretty at the end of the world, but there are some rather important things that we need to remember. These facts are often neglected or have things said about them that don’t seem to be preparing people correctly. For example, you may know that drinking water is important but might not know the options that are becoming available for purification. There are also facts that will most likely help people already following this advice. If you are storing honey, you may not know all of the benefits that it will do for you, and after you find out, you might want to store a bit more. Some of the advice is so practical that people often overlook it. It is the same thing that happens with standard home security. The scariest outcome often seems like it is the most likely to happen. By refocusing on the mundane, you may live long enough to use some of the skills you have learned. My hope is that everyone who reads this article will live a long healthy life no matter what happens to the state of the world. Enjoy!
