US vs. THEM (PART II)

In Part I of this article I discussed why the “Us versus Them” mindset permeates society and how Trump has become a lightning rod for hate. Now I will assess his progress in fighting the Deep State and try to peer into a murky future.

In addition to not being Hillary, the main reasons I voted for Trump was he promised to build the wall, he promised to repeal and replace Obamacare, he promised to end our foreign military interventions, he said he would bring fiscal sanity to the budget, he said the Federal Reserve had blown an immense stock market bubble, he questioned the fake economic data spouted by government drones, and he called out the fake news bullshit media. When I regularly assess his progress on these issues, the standard response from Trump acolytes is “Would you rather have Hillary?”. No, I would not. But that doesn’t get Trump off the hook for his failures in my book.

MCCAIN THE BACK STABBING “HERO”

STOP. HUMANIZING. WAR CRIMINALS.

Guest Post by Caitlin Johnstone

As of this writing, a tweet by disgraced Broadway fraud convict Roland Scahill has 90 thousand shares and 362 thousand likes, which if you’re not used to Twitter is a ridiculously high amount that nobody generally hits. The tweet features nothing but four seconds of video footage from the John McCain funeral, and the caption “George W. Bush sneaking a piece of candy to Michelle Obama is warming my heart.”

That’s it. That’s all it took to win Twitter for the day. Those four seconds of footage have been circulated around TV news stations to ‘ooh’s and ‘ahh’s of fawning establishment pundits yammering incessantly about how the death of War Hero John McCain™ has let everyone Put Aside Our Political Differences™ and Come Together As Americans™ to celebrate the life of a man who dedicated his entire political career to sowing death, suffering and devastation at every opportunity. A war criminal giving a piece of candy to the wife of another war criminal at the funeral of a war criminal is all it took to get mainstream American brains gushing with dopamine and oxytocin.

McCain’s Death Changes Nothing, The “Deep State” Will Replace Him

Authored by Andrew Korybko via Oriental Review,

The entire world reacted to the Senator’s death last weekend, with most of the Alt-Media Community wildly celebrating it while the Mainstream Media mourned the loss of what they described as an “American hero”.

https://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/inline-images/mccaintoon08.jpg?itok=htMn800q

Both sides shared a common ground in believing that his death represented something very significant, whether in a positive or negative way, but the reality is that it doesn’t change anything at all.

‘Progressive’ Praise for McCain Shows Limits of ‘Acceptable’ Conservatism

Guest Post by David Codrea

“Dear friends” celebrate their interpretation of the Constitution with awards — meaning anyone to the right of this alliance can be labeled an “extremist.” (John McCain/Facebook)

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- “I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him,” Mark Antony declares in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. Those familiar with the play understand the subtlety of the oratory and its hidden political purposes. There are political parallels now that Republican Sen. John McCain has passed, with Democrats signaling their admiration for the man.

I’m not going to speak ill of the dead. McCain’s record in life was clear and my differences with him – and there were many — were expressed then. It’s more productive for the purpose of defending against some of those differences to look at what his ostensible political opponents, his friends across the aisle and in the media, are saying about him now.

McCAIN SETS TBP RECORD

The post about McCain blowing up the Forrestal and killing 137 sailors has been around for a few years. It periodically went viral whenever he was in the news and someone would post it on Facebook. It has accumulated over 600 comments and now has over 250,000 views. In comparison, my most viewed Fourth Turning article topped out at 36,000 views. His death this week has propelled TBP visitor counts off the charts. The highest daily visitor count in history had been 42,000. On Sunday we reached 41,000. Yesterday we blew that away with 49,000. Today looks like at least 35,000.

So, I’d like to thank Shitstain McCain for finally dying and boosting my ad revenue for a few days. It’s about the only good thing he has accomplished in the last 30 years. I hope he brought asbestos underwear with him to hell.

There Is No Limit To Presstitute Hypocrisy

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

Caitlin Johnstone warned us that the liberals were going to make a hero out of warmonger John McCain. https://caitlinjohnstone.com/2018/08/24/do-not-let-them-make-a-saint-of-this-asshole/

All morning long NPR has been conducting eulogies for warmonger McCain, who is having a state funeral both in DC and in Arizona. Liberal Democrat Charles Schumer wants to rename the senate office building named after Richard Russell, a real senator, after McCain, a pimp for the military/security complex and supporter of every terrorist group that Washington could organize to sic on the Soviets, the Sandinistas, the Libyans, the Syrians. https://consortiumnews.com/2018/08/27/the-other-side-of-john-mccain/

Are the Interventionists Now Leaderless?

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

Are the Interventionists Now Leaderless?

“McCain’s Death Leaves Void” ran The Wall Street Journal headline over a front-page story that began:

“The death of John McCain will leave Congress without perhaps its loudest voice in support of the robust internationalism that has defined the country’s security relations since World War II.”

Certainly, the passing of the senator whose life story will dominate the news until he is buried at his alma mater, the Naval Academy, on Sunday, leaves America’s interventionists without their greatest champion.

No one around has the prestige or media following of McCain.

And the cause he championed, compulsive intervention in foreign quarrels to face down dictators and bring democrats to power, appears to be a cause whose time has passed.

John McCain is Dead – Good Riddance

Guest Post by Tom Luongo

“Buzzard’s gotta eat, same as worms [spit]”
— Outlaw Josey Wales

John McCain is dead.  Good.

There are few figures in American politics more odious than John McCain.

McCain was chairman of the Senate Armed Services committee.  The main vector of our aggressive and ruinous foreign policy.

He served on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee overseeing everything we see today as needing reform.

And he blocked all of it.

He was, in short, no maverick.

John McCain was the ultimate member of the Status Quo.

He is Gone – And I am Glad

Guest Post by Eric Peters

It is said that it’s bad form to exult in anyone’s death. This is obvious nonsense, of course. No one really practices it.

They do practice hypocrisy. If it is politically correct, they will exult. For example, the death of the tall bearded geek who supposedly attacked our freedoms on that fall day almost 20 years ago. People cheered when a SEAL supposedly put a bullet between his eyes.

John McCain, on the other hand, actually did attack our freedoms – and on many days, both before and after that evil day. And they are talking about re-naming buildings after him. He will get a state  funeral, be eulogized most unctuously. His wife is being talked about as the inheritor of his Senate seat.

Not even Reinhard Heydrich enjoyed such honors.

I prefer a more honest send-off. I hated the bastard. Hated everything he was and everything he stood for. I do not cheer his death, but mourn it?

Ten Reasons Not to Mourn John McCain

Guest Post by Ben Garrison

  • 1. On July 29, 1967, the spoiled brat McCain pulled a prank and wet started his jet as while aboard the USS Forrestal. His mother lovingly called him a ‘scamp’ and it was well known he was a practical joker and rule breaker. He finished near rock bottom in a class of over 800 at Annapolis because he tried to break every rule in the book there while also making terrible grades. Such a prank befits his character. The huge flame created touched off a bomb on the plane behind him which led to more bombs going off from other parked planes, which then led to the deaths of 134 sailors. McCain did nothing to help during the fire. He was whisked off the carrier and protected because his father and grandfather were Navy admirals. The Deep State Swamp media has since tried to cover this up. They protect their own.
