Amid the Absurdity of Clownworld: How Should We Then Live?

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

I believe people are as they think. The choice we make in the next decade will mold irrevocably the direction of our culture… and the lives of our children.

– Author and theologian Francis A. Schaeffer in 1976

The picture at the top of this article shows one of America’s founding fathers according to Google’s Gemini image generation tool.  Pursuant to complaints about the blatant inaccuracy and the ensuing maelstrom of negative press coverage, Google claimed it was “actively working on a fix”. Nonetheless, there remain claims that Google is “not telling the truth” and the company will never give up on its “desire to reshape the world in a specific way”.

Indeed.  It appears artificial intelligence, woke relativism, and Orwell’s “two plus two equaling five” are here to stay. And the “memory hole” first conjured by Orwell has increasingly manifested in The Borg’s nearly completed Simulacrum – as misinformation, false flags, and propaganda daily populate our collective screens.

With that in mind, amid the absurdity of Western culture in the twenty-first century, I will often seek credible information and insights where they are more surely found: in the printed past, and by the words of authors and researchers mostly forgotten.

Having written previously on the prescient prognostications of twentieth-century thinkers like C.S. Lewis and Augusto Del Noce, another book was recommended by a commenter in the thread of my last article.  The book was said to have predicted the decline of empirical science, the rise of technological science, and a frightening future.

The Metaphysics Underlying The Sunset of the West

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

-Proverbs 16:25

The heart is deceitful above all things…

-Jeremiah 17:9

When small men cast big shadows, it means the sun is setting.

– Lin Yutang, Chinese philosopher

Upon the recommendation of a blog commenter, I recently read “The Crisis of Modernity”  by Italian professor and philosopher, Augusto Del Noce (1910 – 1989).  The book was published in 2014 and is a brilliant compilation of twentieth-century essays and speeches by Del Noce.  His philosophical insights are profound and his conclusions and societal predictions, especially regarding Scientism and the Technocracy, are eerily similar to those of English author and theologian C.S. Lewis  – see my previous posts entitled “The Abolition of Man Amid the Consequences of Reality”,  and “Gnostic Parasitism in the Post-Modern Simulacrum”, and “A Postmortem on Postmodernism”.

Our Sweet Victory over Science

There’s been a fair bit of chatter concerning the Atlantic article where the Left is attempting to push the events of the past two years into a shallow hole and cover it up with leaves. Karl Denninger has responded in his usual diatribe which consists of his overuse of the world ‘fuck’, and the bold and underline options. Read it if you would like to know how an articulate 10 year old might respond.

Sev has a much better take and I encourage you to read it. He notes that the Left are not attempting to blame it all on Trump, which is weird as the Vaxx was indeed Trump’s thing.

But they’re not doing that. Instead, we’re getting that weird Ilhan Omar thing they’re sometimes forced to do — some people did some things — which is the closest you’ll ever get to a Leftist admitting xzhey were wrong. Leftists of course can’t admit error. They’re physically incapable of it, but they’re also definitionally incapable of it. They’re on The Right Side of History ™; that’s what Leftism is; and so if they’re wrong about something, they can no longer be Leftists. “Some people did some things” is the closest they can come…

….and that’s where they are now.

I want to add a further point along the lines of ‘know thy enemy’; you know, that old Sun Tzu Art of War thing. Continue reading “Our Sweet Victory over Science”

SCIENCE/NOT SCIENCE

Guest Post by Hardscrabble Farmer

I’ve been aware of atoms for about as long as I can remember. As a child in the 60’s you could not escape the pervasive fears of atomic warfare and then in science class the fundamental building blocks of the atomic structure of things, The Incredible Shrinking Man was one of my earliest movie memories, where a man continued to reduce in size until he found himself adrift in the world of floating molecules.

As with most things in life my belief in atoms wasn’t based on firsthand knowledge or even real understanding, but rather trust in authority figures like teachers and scientists who spoke with such assurance about these things that I simply accepted their words as gospel. Later I became aware of things like nuclear energy which was used to power our homes, and in high school the actual weight of elements made up of these atomic particles as outlined in the periodic table. I heard of the 30-million-dollar electron microscope- although I never actually saw one- nor could imagine how you’d be able to pack tens of millions of dollars of components into something you could sit on a table in a lab.

SCIENCE

Listen to The Science!

Here is what The Science said:

Stay inside for two weeks and we’ll flatten the curve. Lock down for a month or two, and the whole thing will blow over.

Install two-foot by two-foot Science Shields between cashiers and customers. Viruses won’t be able to figure how to go around them. Go to the store to buy groceries but don’t touch non-essential items. The virus will get you if you have over 12 items.

Follow the arrows on the floor, because the virus knows which direction you go.

Install Science Stickers on floors spaced precisely six feet apart—1.5 meters outside the USA. The virus tires after this distance. Install glory holes and avoid face-to-face sex, for that is how viruses breed.

Forget lockdowns. Wear Science Masks instead, and the virus will suffocate. The masks definitely work and must be worn at all times, even when alone in your own home, which is why the vaccines are necessary and must be mandated. The vaccines are safe and effective, and the side effects many experienced are rare. One shot is sufficient, which is why you must have two, and that is why three is the number—except when it is four. Annually.

If you sit and eat maskless in any public space you are safe. If you stand, you die. And kill others.

Science versus Scientism (part 2)

Guest Post By Dr. Robert Malone

Continued root cause analysis of the COVIDcrisis

Now that Scientism has been defined, and the specific example of Dr. Anthony Fauci and the context and truth of his claim that “attacks on me, quite frankly, are attacks on science” has been examined, lets turn to examining what is “Science”, at least that version of “Science” that I have been taught and practiced for over forty years.

Merriam-Webster: science (noun) sci·ence | \ ˈsī-ən(t)s \

Definition of science

1a: knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method

b: such knowledge or such a system of knowledge concerned with the physical world and its phenomena : NATURAL SCIENCE

2a: a department of systematized knowledge as an object of study: the science of theology

b: something (such as a sport or technique) that may be studied or learned like systematized knowledge: have it down to a science

3: a system or method reconciling practical ends with scientific laws: cooking is both a science and an art

4capitalized : CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

5: the state of knowing : knowledge as distinguished from ignorance or misunderstanding

“Human Augmentation – The Dawn of a New Paradigm”

Guest post by Dr. Robert Malone

The report: Human Augmentation – The Dawn of a New Paradigm. A strategic implications projectwas published jointly by the UK Ministry of Defense, and German Federal Ministry of Defense in 2021. Reading this document is frankly chilling as the the idea of using human augmentation for warfare is considered a fait accompli by the authors. That planning for human augmentation must start now.

We can assume that although this report is coming from the UK Ministry of Defense, and German Federal Ministry of Defense, parallel efforts are being made by most large governments around the world.

I Hate #Science Because All Conservatives Hate #Science

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

I Hate #Science Because All Conservatives Hate #Science

Liberals sure love #Science, but like all conservatives I just hate #Science so very, very much. Did you know that 97% of #Science-people, who clearly love #Science, agree that the global warming climate crisis means we have to immediately give the liberal elite a bunch of our money and freedom because of #Science? Well, we do – and as of a couple of months ago, noted #Scientist AOC informed us that we have exactly 12 years to do it. Okay, 11 years, ten months. Tick tock!

You know it’s true #Science because of the specificity of her 12 years figure. Not 11 years. Not 13 years. Twelve years. Now you’re talking some #Science! What can’t #Science do?

Science has Won: Might is Obsolete

Guest Post by Paul Rosenberg

Since the Bronze Age, human societies have been arranged around brute force. Even now, governments are monopolies of violence. More than that, the very structure of government serves one primary end: to deliver violence. All else is supplemental.

This model has survived on the fear of the ruled. And fundamentally, that boiled down to a fear of insufficiency. Acute fears – monstrous foreign invaders and so on – have always played a role, to be sure, but the bedrock fear was a sense among the populace of being insufficient to deal with the world, even with the help of one’s family.

Humanity, from the Bronze Age onward, has believed itself insufficient and felt a need to join with a large, violent entity if they were to survive. That image, however, is so far past its expiration date that its mold and rot are starting to show.

The God’s Must Be Crazy

Guest Post by The Zman

Half a dozen years or ago, I had a Facebook page at the insistence of female friends, who told me I had to have a Facebook page. It did not last long as my life is not interesting and the lives of my friends are not interesting either. What killed the idea for me was that I kept seeing posts for “I Fucking Love Science!” and they were always from people with no math or science. The posts themselves were never really about science either. Instead, they were usually about confirming some belief bubbling up on the Left.

In other words, they were just using science as a placeholder for a transcendent authority that allegedly validated their preferences. Instead of claiming that God commands us to put more women and blacks into STEM fields, we’re to believe science is happier if we put more women and blacks into STEM fields, because, science!  I dropped Facebook a long time ago so I have no idea if it is still a thing, but I see there is a website for it now. By the looks of it, it is the same act.

What Do You Know About Science?

Take this fast 12 question multiple choice test.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3229935/How-know-science-interactive-test-researchers-used-average-American-gets-C-grade.html

Post your results.  Here’s mine.  I missed the “magnifying glass” question.

“You answered 11 of 12 questions correctly.  You scored better than 82% of the public, below 6% and the same as 12%.”

Please state if you are a 9-11 Truther. It is my belief that Truthers are amongst the dumbest people on the planet.  The test results might help answer that question.

Also, if you are a Truther, and if you claim 100%, tell us whether or not you’re lying. Again.
